Help needed just bought a new video card

When I use the Dual link DVI output (switched to the correct position on the card) on my new Asus HD7970-DC2T-3GD5 TOP card with my 30” Dell UltraSharp 3008WFP, I see a strange artefacts, small noise grain dots, similar to the noise on a high ISO picture. The noise is visible only for certain colors (blue and grey hues) on the screen at resolution of 2560x1600. When I drop the resolution down to 1920x1200 these artefacts disappear.

When I connect using a display port cable to the monitor I see no artefacts.

I have tried two different Dual link DVI cables same problem seen.

When I use my 5850 Card I see no problem using the Dual link DVI output to my Dell UltraSharp 3008WFP monitor.

I need to decide if I should return the card for a new one or is it a problem with the monitor with the new series 7 AMD cards could try to swap out the monitor as it is still in warrenty?

Works fine on the display port so I could leave on that port for now

Spec of Computer in sig below

There could be some kind of issue with the traces/connector pins for the second DVI channel, contact the shop, get it swapped for another.

Remember you should not have to pay postage.

Paid just over £400 for the card.

I have e-mail ASUS support about the problem, maybe it is a bios problem.

sounds like duff DVI components on the card itself, do you have another monitor with dvi to rule out your dell aint the problem?

No not at the resolution of 2560x1600

The Dell works ok with a HD5850 at 2560x1600.

The card single link DVI outputs works OK for both ports on the card using the dual link cables.

It is just when I switch to Dual link DVI output on the card, which is set by a switch on the card then I have the problem.
