Anywhere you can open an ISA very quickly?

Hey all,

Tried this a few nights ago online with Santander but was asked to visit a branch to verify documents, I did so today expecting them to open the account but they told me I need to post stuff off...yet didn't tell me what and I've received nothing telling me to post out along with the now 'verified' copy of my passport.

I suspect this wouldn't be sorted before the tax year ends so looking for an ISA I can set up asap?

I opened my HSBC one over the phone, I'm an existing customer.

I am surprised that Santander did not immediately open an isa for you provided that you brought along all the relevant forms passport and national insurance number etc . I have set in motion an ISA with the nationwide on line which should show up in a day or 2 in my online banking area. If serious then get back to Santander they have around the best rate for money at call

ISA's can be opened online with Barclays but not sure how good the rates are

RBS see to have two ISA's available. But remember they may steal your money and buy worthless junk at the same time.

Try phoning your current bank if you don't care about interest rates so much and just want the tax freeness of a ISA

Opened mine with Nationwide in about 3-5 days online but I already had a flex account with them.

I think you did something wrong, I opened mine online a couple of weeks ago with Santander and they didn't need anything sending off to them (I'm not an existing customer either).

You might be too late to do Santander now, I'm still waiting for my login details to put more money in for the new financial year (think I have until the 6th to do it).

5th. 6th is the start of the new tax year. (unless they backdate it for you!)

i have several accounts with santander and have only ever had to provide ID in branch - I have never been asked to post anything :confused:
