The Holy Trinity : Daily Mail, Anime, Child Sexualisation.

Youre clearly extremely sad and disturbed. Most of my friends who watched that film ended up buying it and keeping it to show their kids one day.

Oh wait right, you'll never have kids.

I didn't like it.......

I dont believe you.

how wrong I am about anime and how it's, I don't know, good for people, or something.

So you feel the same way about Walt Disney then? Anime is simply animation.

I can't be more clear on this guys but please tell me about how wrong I am about anime and how it's, I don't know, good for people, or something.

Because you seem to think it ALL is terribad and has cartoon kiddy porn in it?

If you feel that way about anime, then you should feel that the whole of the internet is bad. Actually you should feel that way about the whole of humanity. Something I mentioned in another thread, but you missed the sarcasm...

So because I don't share your taste in animation I am sad and disturbed??????

I have kids, do you?......my Son thought it was boring.

Akira was good though.

No post 99 was sad and disturbed. you managed to fit a sandwich post in the middle and thought it was all about you.

Or maybe you and your son are boring.

I like anime, but I can understand why some wouldnt. I think it's more down to the misconception that it's for kids. There are so many different genres within anime, that its impossible to have a blanket dislike for it without that being your reason.

It's like saying you hate music. Or you hate movies.

Generally you hate a type of music, or a type of movie.

Do you hate animated movies? Disney for instance?

It says anime in the thread title, and you're questioning why we're talking about anime?

*Post cleavage in this thread*

OMG I CANT BELIEVE YOU GUYS ARE POSTING CLEAVAGE.

Two pages and it comes down to anime? This is adorable.

Castiel - save your wit and knowledge for other threads; this one is not worthy. Seriously.

It was a genuine question and you went all weird over it.

Apologies. I've been through these faux-arguments so many times that I lost track there, sorry.

My problem is not with anime itself but with the audience it attracts. Some of them have already blustered in to defend ~~ GLORIOUS ANIME ~~ and that gets tiring quickly. BUT DAD, THEY'RE NOT JUST CARTOONS! etc etc.

Anyway, not sure if that answers your question or not?

Its not possible to not like some things. And you've always come across as boring to me anyway.

Better boring than Bhavv.......I'm just not afraid to have my own opinion on things, as opposed to 'liking' something because it's expected or 'cool' or simply because it is popular somehow.

I enjoyed the novel and read it several times to my boy when he was younger...the film however just didn't have the same impact....maybe because of the medium used, maybe because of wholesale changes in plot and characterisation.

Don't assume I make arbitrary judgements on why I like or dislike something, or that because I don't like an animated film that somehow justifies your limited experience of who and what I am.

That does, but even you should know you get fanboys/girls in every interest
Obsessive anime geeks are very annoying though.

Well, I think you make to big a deal out of it, tar everyone with the same brush when the small number of anime watchers who are actually what you dislike is very condecending to the larger number of people who just treat anime like any other cartoon. You might as well harp on about tom and jerry violence as I'm sure a few kids have wacked thier siblings over the head with a pan after watching it, or something like that anyway.

To be fair Cas, Bhavy is much like you in that respect he has his opinions in other threads that go against the 'cool concensus'

Ah one of those people who didnt like the film because it deviated too much from the novel, you could have said that in which case I wouldnt have called you boring, but a snob instead.

Like all the people who hated and wanted to boycott the first Lord of the Rings film because they omitted Tom Bombadil.

However I doubt that Magnolia has read the novel, in which case he would enjoy the film a lot, but hes simply too childish to try new things, like when you try and give a kid strawberry ice cream, but they wont eat it because they want vanilla instead.
