I bought a new logitech G19 keyboard last week and now my system is using 290watts at idle,,before fitting the G19 my system used around 160watts at idle..

I think it because the G19 has an LCD that it stopping my GPU cards from clocking down when the system is idle..

Anyone have any idea's how to get my system back to using low power again without having to get rid the G19 keyboard ??

:) I fixed it :)

My system back down to 160watts now :)

I fixed it by unticking the "enable enhance graphics" option

That's rather damning for Logitech... does everybody else with thus keyboard suffer from that power use?

With the "enable enhance graphics option" ticked my GPU cards are running when idle at
GPU 1 core = 800mhz /shader 1600mhz / memory 2100mhz
GPU 2 core = 800mhz /shader 1600mhz / memory 2100mhz

With the "enable enhance graphics option" unticked my GPU cards are running when idle at
GPU 1 core = 405mhz /shader 810mhz / memory 324mhz
GPU 2 core = 51mhz /shader 101mhz / memory 135mhz

So i would guess even G19 owners with a single GPU card will be using a lot of extra wattage with that enhance graphics option ticked...
But they must likely don't know if they no have a wattage meter..

This surely can't make much difference to running costs can it?
I understand not wanting to have things underload all the time as this is not ideal and needless stress.

Just interested in costs I dont suppose anybody has worked out a average running cost per year of a so called average oc with average use? Just intrigued as I see a lot of people talking about power usage.

Nice keyboard by the way!

130watts = Costs about 14p for every 7 hours

If my system was idle (just used for browsing etc) for about 7 hours a day that 130watts would cost me about £51 a year

You most likely be amazed how much an average OC gaming system costs to run per year (once you also added in the cost of also running the speakers + monitor/s + wireless router + printer )
