Did anyone get the Sunday Times yesterday, or have an online subscription?

Hi y'all

I was wondering if anyone has access to a certain article that was in the Sunday Times yesterday. It's this article for online people:

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/business/industries/engineering/article3089783.ece

Reason I ask is because I was reading this article, and saw this section:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-17580629
6. Scientists at Oxford University are applying for government approval to put the first driverless car on British roads. The modified BAE Wildcat jeep will use cameras and lasers to calculate its location.

I'd like a copy of the article because that is my friend's research group. So it'd be great if someone could screenshot/ copy paste/ scan it and post it here so I can read it :)

edit: can a mod change the title to "Driver-less cars here we come" please.

On a tangent, this is never going to work surely? How could a driverless car be prepared for, say, a child running on a path and then tumbling onto a road, or a roundabout?

Nice idea obviously, but I don't think a computer could be as good at hazard perception as a human.

It's in it's infancy, but I've spoken to him a lot about the navigation techniques and stuff and it's really cool: GPS, stereo cameras, inertial sensors and LASERs using feature tracking.

I've not spoken about hazard perception to him (I will when I see him now) but a computer has advantages over a human in this area (obviously it needs to be well programmed)
"Thinks" faster
reacts faster
is always paying attention

Thank you :)

What about red lights?
How will this all work in adverse weather conditions?

As said above... its a good idea but humans can do things that a computer can't (i know you have pointed out things that a computer can do better, but I still don't think it could do some of the essential things we do). After all, the human brain is much more powerful than a computer*

*I just pulled this out of thin air and have no idea if it is true or not :p

Red lights it can do in the same way as we can. It recognises a set of traffic lights by using machine learning/ feature recognition and then it knows to stop when it's red.

The weather conditions question is a good one that I've not asked. Rain will be a problem for the LASER methods I'm sure.

I know that the cameras have problems with low light conditions - but they do have multiple systems that they use, so there is redundancy.
