Is this house overpriced by quite a bit?

Well look at the inside of the expensive one... it's rather nice, plus the garden doesn't seem to be overlooked like the other one with the basic interior.

Loft conversion
Garage
extension on side
new tiling
That's 50k+ there.

Why not offer them less see how they tell you to go tighten yourself ?

The expensive one isn't that much better, and personally I wouldn't pay 300k for that. That's overpriced and the decor is vile, new kitchen bathrooms Etc and your looking at 330k..

For the OP's house, yeah that's very over priced.

Basically you are paying a premium for a finished house, that will be as much that can ever happen to it. With house prices still stupidly high it can only loose value to what every you would pay for it.

Would be a good house to buy if you never plan on moving and really like the place (and if the area is good), but realistically it looks like you could pay close to £100,000 more for 50 grands worth of work on a 180k house.

Offer 220k and see how annoyed they look :p

The outside walls of the house is well depressing but that's something that can be fixed cheaply. I'd also redo the front so it doesn't look so desolate. Have a headge for example

If a three bed sold for £181,000 then I would say it is well overpriced. I am not sure about Bristol but property prices fell a fair bit last year in Liverpool. I would say on average property prices in Liverpool fell by about £12 - 15,000.
