After 2 years of ownership I've waved Goodbye to my TVR.. It's been by far the most fun car I've ever owned to date, while being the most frustrating at the same time.

Now the happy owner of a BMW Z4M.

Not quite the same performance but not far off, the BMW 3.2 straight 6 engine is really sweet, and all the mod cons are nice to have again :) 343bhp compared to approx 370 in the TVR (TVR T350t with 4.0l engine rebuild), but with traction control it's a lot easier to drive without it trying to tear your head off or dump you backwards into a hedge.

Thanks chaps..

Wasn't really a fan of the soft tops, but like the shape of the coupe, they seem to be a lot rarer as well.

Nice work, you have a real roof version of mine. Shame we couldn't have done a trade as I was looking to buy a TVR a few months back. However I've fallen back in love with my Z4M Roadster now.

You need to hear my intake and exhaust...then get modding :)

Exhaust will be the first think I look into.. any recommendations?

I have the Eisenmann sport, which is quite expensive but lots of character (pops and cracks) - but no drone or too loud. Remus is cheaper and popular. There was some rouge Diablo's for sale on the forum too which are a similar spec to my Eisenmann.

Failing that there is a bypass mod which people are doing to their standard exhaust on the cheap which seems to work quite well, but I plunged for the new exhaust a while back and I'm happy.

In terms of intakes, there are a few expensive carbon ones (£900...) and CSL (£1500), but the aFe intake I got from America sounds just as mental and that was £400 ish I think.

And if you want to really smile...this is how nuts it sounds in the cabin :D

I would agree the car is brilliant for touring, just did a eurotrip and the car was fantastic in every respect bar fuel..!

I've got some Go-Pro footage from Belgium to put up soon, these are a little old.

That exhaust sounds really sweet, but wow it's expensive...

I've been thinking of a re-map as well to get a few more horses out of it, any experience of them?

Remaps are very rarely worth it on an NA car. I have the non M version of the Z4C and a remap will only add about 3bhp See here. You may get more with a custom one but I doubt it would be worth it.

I got my exhaust for £800 second hand, worth the grin it puts on my face. I would recommend the exhaust bypass mod and aFe intake which will keep you happy for about £500 all in for both.

Don't waste money on a remap, the engine is pretty expensive for bhp gains. You will research it, then come to the same conclusion that it's all about the noise, handling and enjoying it out of the box.

Agreed, I'll scrap that. To be honest it seems to have more than enough power already. I'll keep my eyes open for an exhaust over the next few months.
