With that mileage/age I but the majority of it's life has been spent doing motorway miles.

Having owned a mk4 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Estate (Titanium X) i'd suggest that it would be well suited for taxi duties. My research into them didn't reveal any major shortcomings with the diesel engine (not the same engine as the Mk3 which I'd never consider).

However, the local airport franchise here uses the S-Max which is the same engine I believe and almost the same interior. Different driving position but could be better suited as a taxi.

thats good what engine?

190k is nothing for a well maintained modern diesel

my veccy is on 200k and still on the original turbo and only got a clutch and flywheel at 145k miles. if you maintain a modern diesel well and dont abuse it, ie dont trash from cold let it cool down and service it with the correct oils at the correct times they will run forever, as said previously no smoke from mine, doesnt use a drop of oil between services and touch wood never gives me any trouble. BUT on the other side of the coin, a mate of mine has an identical car albeit 2 years newer and 150k miles less and its wrecked. burns oil, on its 3rd turbo and generally is a bag of bolts.
