Not surprised with the way they're pushing DLC these days. Soon you'll only be purchasing one half of the game - next half of the game is available via DLC :p It's all so greedy - This is why I always try and support indie games wherever I can.

A lot of game series have gotten a bit worse when EA touches them :(

Indeed! They're like a Game Company Vacuum. Unfortunately, they have the spending power to suck up the smaller gaming companies and ruin perfectly decent gaming series.

“We’re sure that bank presidents, oil, tobacco and weapons companies are all relieved they weren’t on the list this year," EA said in a statement sent to Game Informer. "We’re going to continue making award-winning games and services played by more than 300 million people worldwide.”

On the one hand I completely understand their point, on the other hand the fact they were so dismissive of an outpouring of discontent from their customers bugs the hell out of me.

Reminds me of the days when their splash video had the phrase "EA Games: challenge everything". I always thought that "EA games: ruin everything" would have been a bit more appropriate.

It's EA, of course they don't care what their customers say, as long as they continue to buy FIFA 2056, Madden OAP 12, and DLC packs 3-300.

EA are about the only company I know who seem more than happy to not be able to get payment from long term customers - it's the only possible explanation for the fact their billing system for MMORPG's doesn't work reliably (and indeed when they changed everyone over to it, didn't include any instructions on how to get your old accounts linked to the new system).

In some ways I really wish EA would go bust, or at least make a couple of massive losses, as that might get the accountants and PR people who seem to be running it, to pay attention to what the customers want - games that work when bought (not require massive patches, or DLC to play through), and a system where when they do sell you something, they have an accounts system that works.

Oh and customer service would be nice...

EA ar a company that is meant to make products that are fun for the customers.
They don't even manage that a lot of the time due to the problems associated with that, and people are far more likely to have a problem with a games publisher that cannot get solved easily, than they are with a banking establishment, which at least has regulators to try and maintain standards.

I don't know if they really deserve the "worst company in America" award, but they certainly fall well below what you'd expect of a company that sells what is meant to be an enjoyable product.

/is a slightly bitter UO player who is fed up of EA making changes without any documentation to even the basics, like how to pay the subscription fee in the new accounts system (or indeed, how to log into the new accounts system).

Ubisoft
Electronic Arts
Activision

Difficult to pick just one.

What I will say about Ubisoft is that it's a shame that they don't put as much effort in to their games as they do their DRM.
