Hi guys. Been playing Black Ops all day fine, not going below 90fps with vsync. Now just gone to play, and not getting above 50fps?

Temperature is at 40c max which is weird, as it usually gets to 60ish, and it's at full load. I'm baffled, any ideas?

Cheers.

fiver says your clocks have gone down to 2d! :D

DL msi afterburner and check your GPU clocks when you start playing. They should around 700mhz iirc.

OK try this.

Right click on your desktop. Somewhere there will be a part of the Nvidia control panel that controls applications. I have a strong feeling I know why this is happening.

I can't remember exactly what it's called or where it is, but somewhere there is an application profile section.

If the game you are having this issue with is not there browse for the exe. Once you have added it make sure you change "Adaptive performance" to "Prefer maximum performance".

However, DO NOT DO IT GLOBALLY. Only do it for the game.

It seems to me you are having wrongful downclock problems with your card. IE - when playing the game your drivers are slowing it down to save power when they shouldn't be.

OK it's under "Manage 3d settings". Then click on "Program settings".

Then simply turn it to prefer maximum performance for the game you are having issues with.

Still doing it. I'm going out of my mind here!

It looks to be running at half the speed according to afterburner. Uninstalled afterburner and nothing changes.

Uinstall drivers, restart, install drivers. I know it sounds dumb, but sometimes the simple things catch us out..

Have you added anything to the rig?

Just installed latest drivers now, and no nothing new. Will try this out for a while and see how I get on.
