I vote a ban for threads that have DM links as their primary inspiration - who's with meh?
Fine by me. I can barely look my own mother in the eye since learning she takes the mail ("for the crossword") among other papers.

Also, I never noticed until now what a ropey-looking bird Kate Middleton is relative to all the hype she gets in the media.
*raises hand*

You do realise she's the one on the right?![]()
See the 'Porn to be banned in UK thread' then tell me you wouldn't do Kate in 6 months time lol![]()
Are you guys trolling yourselves? What's remotely annoying about that article? She is just saying she is copying Kate's style.

Even the hilighted bit in the OP has to be construed incorrectly to make it annoying.
I'm a bit baffled with this one. Haters like to hate I'm afraid.
Some Vapid DM Cow said:I hadn’t realised it before, but we are shockingly alike in our approach to life. We both want nice things. We want to escape our ordinary past (mine, Chelmsford, Essex; hers, Bucklebury, Berkshire). We believe in fairytale romance.
It's not 'annoying' it's just so utterly irrelevant and 'non-news' that it beggars belief why some moron would a) bother to read it and b) bother to post it up on the OCUK forum
It's not supposed to be news - she's a columnist, not a reporter.
The sadness is that whilst this dozy berk is claiming she is basically identical in so many ways, KM doesn't even know she exists. The sad delusions of tabloid 'journalists'...![]()

Sorry, I had no idea....due to not reading it since I'm not a moron.
What is remotely bad about the bit you quoted?
Seems fine to me.
Her list of similarities contains 3 generic items which are common to... well, virtually any female from the age of 10 and upwards.
By her logic, and according to her criteria, almost every female on the planet is 'shockingly alike' to Kate Middleton.
She's 20 years older and prides herself on being at fashion's cutting edge. But LIZ JONES says even she's unconsciously fallen victim to the Kate effect
I think they mean subconsciously, otherwise she'd be flat on her face in the pictures. 'I just woke up and someone had dressed me like this!'
(I'm aware of the other definition of unconscious, but it refers to memories that can't be recalled I believe. Meaning she wouldn't have realised she was doing it and hence the article would never have existed. In fact, I wish it had happened unconsciously, whichever definition of the word you choose to take.)
It's called 'comment baiting', the Daily Mail are fairly notorious for doing this on their online edition in an attempt to drag in the hits from idiots and/or the 'Twitteratti'. It's designed to inflame, nothing more. Stop clicking on links to the Daily Mail and giving them traffic, it allows them to bandy about being the most viewed newspaper online.
