Really liking the look of all these new cards but I really need to get a higher paying job! To be fair to Gibbo people are buying these so make hay while the sun shines. If anyone has tips on how you get lots of disposable income be sure to tell me ;)

I don't think you need a new job, I think they need to lower prices. You know, I can afford this but it's just crazy imo.

Indeed.

"Wait for kepler" did that, now wait for kepler to drop its prices. I could buy it right now if i wanted but will never spend that much on a gfx card.

I'll be interested to see the benchmarks. The 680 tends to out perform the 7970 despite having less RAM, so it would be interesting if the VRAM really is holding it back. I'd be surprised if it performs a lot better, even at higher resolutions but I'll be impressed if it does.

Still, way too expensive.

Same here, pay day and these are little too high almost.

Mind you after that I decided to try and order the normal EVGA one and bam out of stock just as after I saw 1 left.

Clock speeds on these are higher and they take an 8pin and a 6pin.

Also they only have 2 year warranties...

True, I could afford these in SLI but I know it won't be value for money. On the other hand if I had £5000 a month to spare I wouldn't care. I've got other things on the list like bills, savings, pension etc. I must be getting old!

You know, no one is forcing people to buy cards at £500-£600. If you cant afford it dont buy it, if you can, buy it if you want. I've no idea why people cry about the prices.

These cards have, 2 year warranty, more RAM and higher clock speeds, so what do people really expect when a stock 680 is between £430 to £460? A card with all mentioned above and a none reference cooling system will be priced higher, it really is simple to understand when you think about it eh.

Wait for the Evga GTX 680 F.T.W. which will have 3 year warranty :P

Edit: Lol, "for the win" abreviated is blocked.

Last week I bought a brand new gigabyte mobo, 2500k and a 6970 for £450, £600 seems crazy for just one piece of kit - Especially seeing as there isn't a lot out there decent enough to push them hugely.

The main target market would presumably be enthusiasts who will probably have stupid resolutions which need the 4GB VRAM and te power of a 680 (maybe more)
