1333 v 1600

As far as i understand only really in benchmarks however you have a pretty nice setup so worth spending the few quid extra! (IMO!)

I would personally go for a 1600MHz kit - mainly because 1600MHz is such a popular frequency and the kits are cheap.

For example this excellent 8GB kit from Kingston is 1600Mhz CL9 and only costs £36.

Here is another nice 1600MHz 8GB kit from Crucial.

1600mhz crucial > the Kingston any day of the week.

Kingston tend to need higher voltages for 1600 whereas the Crucial are rock solid at 1.5V

Would go with 1600MHz as long as your motherboard supports it. The Kingston stuff has been very popualar on the forums recently too.

Just seen the G.Skill RipJawsX, are these any good?

They are decent sticks (just as good as the Crucial or Kingston sticks mentioned earlier) but they use a larger heatsink design - so you may have issues with fitting a large CPU cooler. This wouldn't be an issue with a low-profile RAM kit like the crucial or kingston, hence I would personally go for one of those instead of the RipJawsX.

The real world difference is about 3% ingame FPS and about the same in other applications. So about the difference between 60 and 62 FPS. It depends on the game as well but there was some benchmark results flaoting around here somewhere. 1600 seems to be the sweet spot currently and you'll get a bigger return from 1333=1600 than 1600-1866.

Also look at the last number,the lower the last C number the faster the memory is

For Sandy Bridge 1600MHz with modest timings is the sweet spot for price/performnce:

Its for an audio/music editing and some photo editing PC. I wont be using it for gaming.

Considering the low-profile of the Crucial sticks I might go with them.

My reply was related to the two sets of RAM you quoted where the C8 are 50% more than the C9

And as C8 makes virtually no difference it's probably not even worth spending an extra £10.
