Just a quick simple question, I want the multiplier and voltage on my core i5 2500k to drop when idle and under load increase to say x44. I can set it to always run at x44, but it never drops when idle. Is there something I'm missing in the bios? I could easily manage it on my old gigabyte board.

How are you setting the voltage for this?
Is it auto, manual or offset voltage?

What bios version is the board running?

You want to be in offset voltage mode really to reduce the idle volts as well as the clock speed while the cpu is idling.
There's also an odd quirk on the latest bios (previous bios are unaffected) where you need to set the power profile in windows to balanced to get the cpu to throttle down.
