**The Official Nokia Lumia 800 Thread***

Thank you for contacting Nokia Careline.

We appreciate your interest for Nokia products. Please be advised that Microsoft takes very seriously meeting (and exceeding) the requirements outlined by agencies such as the FCC in the USA. They felt it was really important to fully address the concerns raised by recent FCC regulations before enabling this feature and are optimistic they can deliver on these requirements though a software update and are working diligently on that now.

Our aim is to introduce wifi tethering as an update to existing products early in 2012. As of now, we will be unable to provide the exact date of when the tethering will be available on the Nokia Lumia 800.

We would like to ask for your kind patience and understanding regarding this matter. Again, thank you for your continous support for Nokia products and services.

If you have any other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Almost yay ... HURRY UP!

Guys

Anyone using Nokia Drive?

I wanted to use it on my works phone overseas so downloaded all of the maps this evening. However it looks as though no navigation info is downloaded.. as when you want to search for a place it connects to the internet... if I disable wifi/3g then it fails with a cannot connect error

Is there any way around this?

Yes. Download the latest updated version (2.0) and make sure the Connection setting is set to offline. The previous version searched on a server only so required data, but not now.

Whats the current best price to get one of these sim-free?

Getting bored with Android and was thinking of trying out Windows :)
I believe Amazon were doing them for £330 but no idea if this is the cheapest or not...

I've already said earlier in this thread that it will be in the next update...

This.

Finally got my handset back today and so far so good. Latest update installed, diagnostics showing a discharge rate of 83mAh. But that is with no connection to wi-fi and no SIM installed so it isn't doing much. I'll give it a run for its money tomorrow.

Don't get too hyped up over this whole discharge thing. It probably isn't very accurate anyway. You'll notice a huge increase in battery life especially when the phone is just idle.

Orange always behind the times in s/w :( Should be out soon chaps. Cyan just went End of Life over here, still got tons of black though :)

I'm stuck between getting one of these, or the new HTC One.

This phone is the much cheaper option at the moment, can get a used one for £200...how would i stand with the warranty if anything went wrong with it? Would it be covered by nokia care?

Phones been out for less than year, so would imagine would still be under a Nokia care warranty.

Come on Orange, every other Carrier has the update bar you. My lumia seems to either last 50% at the end of a day or die near the end with near enough the same amount of use, sometimes it'll last with 3G on all day as well.

Well Im on orange, and I've just forced the update with the help of a good website. My battery is doing much better than it did before. Drain at idle is down from around 200ma to 70ma.

Wish the phone worked like this from the start though....

Nah the verge have a bee in their bonnet with anything Windows, no one like Engadget take them seriously.

Note they cant even score the exact same eco system that the marked lower for the 710 and other windows models, I mean how useless can you be when you cant even get that right?

TO note thought their is plenty I agree with what is wrong with Mango.
