I live about 2 miles (along an A road) from the motorway.

You must drive very fast, which is odd, because then you'd not get that figure. When I get great mpg figures with mine my average speed is not as high as that despite a cruising speed of 70mph indicated :confused:

Not really. I leave my house - about half a mile to a dual carriageway then about 1.5 miles to the motorway - very little slowing down so the average is kept up. Quite simple really.

I'd then cruise at about 75.
