It's cold in Scotland (I know, big shock) and my metal mouse mat is actually getting so cold its making my hand cramp so I am looking for a rigid mouse mat to use that's plastic based because my metal one is acting like a heatsink.

Any suggestions?

The boogie is neither rigid nor suitable for a laptop :/ The problem is glass transmits heat really well, I have an old icemat and it gets freezing too.

It needs to be:

A) Rigid
B) Plastic based

Cheers guys.

Hmz, considering the vespular (I have the pro (basically white) exact mat atm, so its a plastic version. Or I could go with the scarab and maybe use it in the case if I need it particularly non flexible....

Please read what I said, glass suffers the same issue as metal. As much as I love the surface of both, it's actually painful to use either.

I swear some people just see 'Mousemat' in a thread name and copy/paste 'Boogiebug' into it. He asked for a RIGID mat and the Boogie is clearly not rigid. You guys using an IceMat are missing out on modern tech. I used an IceMat for 4 years before Steelseries acquired the company and began producing them under a different name. I too believed it was the best around, until I tried my friends cloth Qck. Promptly bought one and havent looked back.

If you're set on a solid plastic mat (personally I don't understand why anyone would be in 2012, with the evolution of cloth mats) then look into the Razer Scarab or Steelseries 4/9HD. Both will exceed your expectations if you're coming from an IceMat.
