Are we allowed to look for web designers in this forum?

As per title really. I have an idea for a website but I need a web designer to help me. Am I allowed to post some details and solicit portfolios?
 
Nope, taken from the board rules :-

You may not promote any website or business you have a financial or other interest in, or use the popularity of this community to help build one of your own. The forums are here to allow people to freely share knowledge, not provide them with personal financial gain, or free advertising.

However....I'd pay scant attention to the above as this rule never gets enforced here so knock yourself out.

There's a guy around here that'll do you a site for a fiver or something, maybe he'll pop round.

Very true. Off forum contact would be allowed of course. Actual discussion isn't supposed to be allowed although as I already said, read into that however you like. :cool:

It sounds like a good idea but it'll just attract people pimping their skills - unless it's hidden to none members and has a high post count/member duration. Still I doubt OcUK would do it lol

same rules as MM access to post in that section and it would be a great idea to allow users to intereact for commercial purposes
 
It depends how much you're willing to pay someone, im sure there's more than a few highly experiences designers on here. If not, check out some graphic design portfolios, they're plastered on the net, they will quote you a price :) I know a guy thats good, not sure of his prices but his names evan eckard , google him :)
