What is my TV playing at?

Looks like you could have it set to NTSC instead of PAL. Also happens when Progressive scan mode is switched on but thats only on DVD players.

Have you changed anything recently?

Turn it off at the wall, press the power button a few times, then turn it back on at the wall and see what happens.

LG 37LD450 is the model, I just turned it on earlier went to tune the channels got to about 90% done then it goes to half and half mode, took it back to the shop they said we have to wait for engineer, but when we turned it back on it was fine, then towards end of tune back to half half again

ur best bet would be to start looking at returning it for a new one or different brand. but i dont know what ur rights are.

no its mirroring half the full image the wrong way round on the left side and then showing a little bit of the left side on the right hand of the screen.

I've got a LG 42LD450 and I've not got any options called Flip. (Just wanted to make sure that if mine went funny like that then I could fix it)

could have been a different model then. I was trawling through some stuff on the net for him. Soothing like that should be easily fixed so wouldn't be a bad call to ring the retailer and see what they can do.

Strange though

Try find the factory reset option in the menus, if there is not one there must be a key combination you may need to press on the TV set or the remote to make it factory reset.

Could be just corrupted software and the factory reset will solve it.

Here is how I just found the factory reset for that set. Make sure to unplug all HDMI and other cables plugged into the set when you do this, just the power cable I would have plugged in. (Reason I say this is some devices plugged in may trip the factory reset half way threw).

LG Models TV Factory Reset

All LH, LF, LU, LG – PG, PS & PQ series TV’s factory reset in the same way – detailed below:

On Remote:

- Menu – down arrow to

- Options – down arrow to

- Factory Set

…and follow the on screen instructions.

Some TV’s may require a separate ‘Autotune’ afterwards:

On remote:

- Menu – select

- Setup – select

- Autotune

…and follow the on screen instructions.

Other help here too

If the facory reset resolves the issue, try checking if there is a firmware update for the tv and update it, it could be a known fault fixed with a firmware update too.
