What does stress testing involve?? Sitting in a que or on the game servers with loads of other people logging in, so it comes to a grinding halt??

If its like the first game it will be login, everyone remains in one place and then they nuke the hell out of everything.

can you happily swap servers for free like you could on GW1 or is it like most mmo's where you have to pay to transfer your character to another server?

Yes free.
The catch is though you need to be in the region where the software was purchased.

Example. A key bought in the UK will only allow you to login within the EU. You can't goto America and log into your account... for now at least.

I guess they did that to prevent someone (China) accessing your account.

Really? Id be suprised if you could freely move between servers......reason being, that would seriously affect WvWvW....as if a server is performing badly, everyone would just move to a more successful server, thus creating massive imbalance and empty servers.

sweet. how does WvWvW work then? Can u still swap sides on a WvWvW?

You choose your "Home" server at the beginning which you get bonuses from.

But you can also swap to different servers if you want to play with a friend from a different country or somthing, but you won't get they're world bonuses you will still get world bonuses from your "Home" server.

Ha....well thats because its the most likely outcome; I cant see them allowing people to freely move server, without it seriously messing up WvWvW.

You get world bonuses depending on how you're home server is doing in WvWvW.

You can still play on the other teams in WvWvW.

Nope, this "stress test" is only for people who got through the sign up process a month ago.

The pre-purchase people will be joining in the beta event at the end of the month.

i signed up a few months ago but never got into that beta! so your saying all those who got invited to the previous beta are in the stress test?

Server swaps will be free. However, you will not be able to play WvW for a short time after swapping. Also, the worlds will be balanced every two weeks with servers being matched against equally capable servers.
