Budget BF3 Graphics Card

Ok it was a = Gigabyte GA-G41M and a Casecom 400W

Ouch, that's a £15 PSU...

I wouldn't suggest putting that PSU in the same room as a good (and power hungry) graphics card like the HD 6850, never mind powering it (for one thing it doesn't have any PCIE power connections).

Instead, if he really wants to stick with that aweful PSU then again the only card I can recommend is the HD 7750, though I am slightly wary of that as I feel that PSU may fry it anyway. The HD 6770 draws 108W on the 12V rail, so may also be too much for that PSU.

If you try the HD 6770 with the new PSU you will need a 2xmolex to PCIE 6pin power adaptor cable as the PSU doesn't have any PCIE 6pin connectors, or the card won't work. When you were testing this card with the earlier components, did you plug in the 6pin PCIE power connector then?
