Help Dark Souls on PC!

It would be fine if it fed more people than it punched, unfortunately it does not.

Oh don't be so over dramatic.

Chances are pretty high the reason you are having problems with GFWL is something you have either not done or are doing wrong.

Gota be a user error!

Not at all.

If the GFWL client is corrupt, some games will not even launch.

And no, uninstalling/reinstalling does not allways help.

Sometimes it can be a case of editing the registry and restarting twice while hopping on one leg while licking a parrot. It really can be that random.

And the random save game corruption is a joke.

Microsoft do not care about it and their cutomer service towards GFWL backs this up and anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.

If Steam was randomly corrupting save files, I am certain it would be a priority for Valve. For MS, not so much.

I'm not lol...

It's clear that a lot of people who have used it have had problems, hence this petition...

just out of interest Tibbz, whats the problem youve had with batman AA? my game is via steam and obviously uses GFWL but it runs fine, ive never had a problem. my biggest gripe here is that it uses both steam and GFWL at the same time, seems OTT.

Yes you are, it's the same with other things you hear from the people with problems but never from the people without issues. I have played multiple games with GFWL and never had a problem. It doens't mean i love the program, but i certainly don't hate it.

You on about AA or AC?

AA is a GFWL game, sold on Steam. No steamworks features.

The Steam version of AC utilises Steamworks and does away with GFWL which makes sense and kudos to the developers/publishers for that.

This whole point is that the majority do not want GFWL when Steamworks would be a much better alternative for matchmaking, achievements, stat tracking etc.

What PC player would ever say "Yes please, I would prefer GFWL over Steamworks"? Heretics.

Never played it.

Good for you, but I don't really care because I have had issues with games and therefore I have a right to dislike it, like others who have had issues too.

While this may be true, i still have never had any problems with GFWL so i must be really lucky? For something that is so common, i find it weird i haven't experienced any of these problems ever. If the DRM service is that BAD don't you think Namco Bandai would use something else? I think its more of a "I WANT MY GAME ON STEAM!!" rather than a "GFWL will ruin Dark Souls so i will refuse to buy it!"

Like said multiple times, some people are fine, some people have hell. It's weird, but for people who have the problems it is a massive put-off.

i dont see the problem with it using GFWL either, sure its not ideal but its far from the worst thing ever invented like some like to claim, these internet demonstrations are getting old fast.

This tbh. It's not my option of choice, but it's the one they've picked, and I've never had it get in the way of me playing any of the dozen or so games I've used it on.

Some people never seem happy or grateful with the efforts that devs put in and have such an entitlement complex it's not funny.

Would I rather have Steam? A given. I'm not going to whine at a company until I get my way though, I'm grateful it's even coming to PC.

Yup good for me, there is no need for the attitude. I didn't say you had no right to dislike it, everyone has a right like/dislike everything. I was merely pointing out that you are being over dramatic as you have no real merit telling people that it punches people more than it feeds and is the bane of gaming. You have nothing to back that up.

It is an amazing game though, i own it on the console and if enough friends get it for the PC i'll buy it again to try and play with them regardless. If it was GFWL or not it'll still be getting bought.

Good luck with the survey anyway as if it stops more people from getting the game, it means less people are going to get the chance of playing a brilliant game.

edit: In reply to orderoftheflame: Steam would be brilliant, saying that i would love all games to be on Steam as it keeps everything in one place and although it has it's own little niggles/problems it is the best client out there at the moment.

Like said, it's not ungratefulness. It's the ability to even play the game.

Yes people want this game on PC, but it is a let down when they probably won't be able to play it if they have issues!
