Legend of Grimrock - Dungeon Master Fan's !

quick question ladies, If I buy this on GOG do i get a code to be able to activate on Steam as well ?

I'm finding the spell system a pain, it is slow to use (well my clicking is slow), and I'm still using first lvl spells since I cant work out the combo's for the next lvl lol, keep finding combos I'm not able to sucessfully cast :(

Other than that its good fun! Level 4 map was a nasty...

Starting Level 5, found 3 or 4 secrets on level 4 plus got the key to the iron door. So quite happy with myself. The very end of level 4 is crazy. Had to hide behind a door and open it every so often or it was impossible to continue on :S

I think I may need to restart - was aiming for a Ranged Rogue, turns out Dex is pretty much useless in that regard. Doh.

Also, whats the point of Backstab? No idea how you're meant to get around the back of some mobs...

Oh, and this game needs more classes, and multiclasses!

Ok... this game is bloody awesome!

Not many games I'd get two hours in and then want to start again with a new party, but I am loving this one.

Currently wondering if assassination bonuses stack with dagger bonuses. Because if they do, an assassin/dagger rogue might just be the ultimate damage dealer if you're quick enough to be able to manoeuvre behind enemies. Even with assassin lvl 12 and dagger lvl 4, my rogue deals more damage than my two fighter combined, I think. Plus quick cooldown and no energy worries.

Still, only down to lvl 3 so best not speak too soon.

Ok, back in I go...

:D

I'm finding this quite tricky. Now down to Level 5 and the mosters are seriously messing me up. I'm beginning to think that sticking with the default party was a bad move. Do I start again now that I've spent a good few hours scouring the place for secrets and not bothered to document a single thing.

That's basically where I am, using default down to lvl 5, its pretty tough going against mobs. I'm just going to keep on with default and see how it goes, worst case I get to start again at some point which is no real negative lol :D

The point is, with 12 points in their primary stat, rogues can use any weapon from the back row. Swords, axes, you name it.

That doesnt really answer the question though does it... The point I was making was why would anyone use a bow using rogue on the front row over a warrior with a shield

Maybe the rogue would evade more dmg than the warrior would mitigate...

What a gem of a game this is....

Its simply simple, as in very simple intro and nothing OTT and brings back the old days gone by of grid dungeon crawl games.

The graphics are really sharp, it runs lovely on my laptop and already done a good few hours - simply put this is a great game but I can see a few being put off by the lack of voice overs, flashy cut scenes etc...

Me, this is eye of the beholder reborn... Excellent, right off to play some more.
