My EVGA GTX 580 SC is showing artefacts when I'm playing on BF3, it is about 3 hours old....What should I do? Im using the new Beta driver at the moment (Bought my 580 from overclockers)

:(:(:(:(

Downloading 296.10 as we speak, I hope this works, I had an Asus 580 DCUII about a week ago and that was DOA along with my H100. Some bad luck right now =(

There's always the chance with beta drivers (and sometimes 'stable' drivers) that you'll have some problems, so it's always worth a shot rolling back to an older version before you do something drastic like a RMA :)

I went back to the old drivers...still got artefacts and then it crashed =( Should I RMA through overclockers?

Presumably your running it at stock settings?

My 470 didn't like those drivers (296.10) for done reason, but was most stable with the ones previous to them. Could maybe give them a go. If still no luck, get into overclockers. What are temps like at load?

Yeah its on stock settings..I used EVGAs Scanner utility and it measured about 50 odd artefacts in a few minutes..

RMA it to the shop if they find fault they should replace it right away if they have stock.

Try turning does the clocks to that of a normal 580 and seeig if things improve.

Tbh its a SC card so if it dont work at them speeds then its faulty.

When I measured the number of artefacts using EVGAS scanner, I had turned down the core and memory frequency but it didn't help. Oddly, it didn't even get that hot, around 80C, my old gpu use to run hotter.

No dont mess with it as this could result in the shop not taking it back as its been messed with.

Go here and put a rma in https://www.overclockers.co.uk/webnote.php 4th one down or call 0871 200 5053 if you can do a video of the problem this will help and send it to them.

Hmm well after fiddling with my fan speed curve...if I get my GPU to stay around 65C under load ( at about 70% fan speed), it doesn't seem to crash...surely that is still unacceptable and I can ask for a refund?

Why haven't you phoned them yet?
Your card is faulty, it's not up to you to mess around with various programs to try & fix it. It's all well & good keeping it under 65c but then it's louder & what do you do in the summer when it is hotter? Just call them & RMA it.

Sounds like its running hot to me,gainwood or msi both are really good cards.

gainwood? ;)

Really....hmmmm

I wanted to buy a 680 you know, but they didn't have it in stock. Do you think OCUK will let me replace my card for a different one or only offer me a refund?

If it's within 28 days then you can have a refund :)
