Coventry bang/shock wave

Not sure I believe a sonic boom spreading for 70 odd miles personally but hey ho.

Its because it was at low altitude, the pilot would have pretty much floored it as he was responding to an emergency situation. To put it in perspective the "noise pollution" caused by high altitude sonic booms was one of the reasons the US refused to let concord go supersonic in its airspace (scuppering any chance of its use in US domestic flight).

For reference the is a frequency that if your radio is turned to squawk on is basically I way of saying "I have been hijacked" without actually saying anything, kinda like a silent alarm, if the helicopter used this frequency in error it would explain a lot.

Where did all these Covetarians suddenly come from? :D

We're normally too ashamed to admit it..absolute s'hole of a city. The prominent white chav underclass makes me want to hide away most of the time!

Disclaimer: I am in Walsgrave which isnt the nicest area...sure there are some nice parts, used to be in Earlsdon and that wasn't much better than where I am now.

Is this an entire thread about people in Coventry being scared of a sonic-boom?

RAF fly over daily here, nothing to get excited about.
