Legend of Grimrock - Dungeon Master Fan's !

It's a great game but it doesn't seem to have the same soul as Eye of the beholder or LoL

I agree abit with that but tbh it has no story really i think thats more why i feel that way so i can accept it for its some what limited scope (price helps ofc).

Been having a great time with this game.

Scrapped my original party with two mages as I messed up point spending that resulted in one mage throwing rocks until levelling. But the prison room sorted the men from the boys and killed party due to lack of dps and poor movement.

Switching to a rogue archer in the back certainly allows for more manageable combat as less clicking compared to two sets of runes.

Have had plenty of "I remember this" thoughts while playing and remembering Eye of the Beholder. And the spiders initially generated the same fright, but their weak poison deminished their threat when compared to EotB.

Anyone know if this is an infinite spawn of mobs to help level up?
Level four while getting the four scrolls. One area required trapping a skeleton in a cell to keep pressure plate down, with three cells in total. Before I worked this out I kept summoning one at a time and killing, so wondered if a finite supply or a source of easy xp. Or once main door is opened that halts respawning of skeletons.

How easy is the dungeon runner achievement to get?

I found the time taken to clear the slugs and trees to get the gems took too much time, even with using the pit for the slugs. So unless they die very quickly on easy mode compared to normal I'd be pressed to do it.

They respawn just like the snails do nearby so yea you can lvl up and stock up on food

All my characters are human and I have 2 fighters at the front and a rogue and mage at the back. Worked out pretty well so far though parts have been hard to do... those spiders are a PITA to kill!

I'd been playing DM for ages before I realised this was possible. It was an incredibly clever game for its time :)

It really really was, its up there in my top 5 games of all time for just those reasons. Eating drumsticks for several levels only to discover they originate from rats and the accompanying OMG moment that followed, maging the barbarian, being chased my smiling mummies, having to pick the bones up of your fallen and carry them to a shrine of reincarnation and the see through walls spell. It was a game so far ahead of its time.

I liked EotB but DM was (for me) the first I played of that genre and I played it with a good mate over lots of sweet and fuzzy POP induced all nighters, it will always have fond mems.

Not quite so sure why Lands of Lore is held in such regard by so many. Was decent enough but not a patch on Dungeon Master or Eye of the Beholder for me.

Anyway, I'm on level 2 :D

I detest spiders at the best of times....walking around a corner and have one scream and attack me... sheesh..... I hate spiders..... that is all
