Religion has no place in the modern world.

Ignorance and prejudice has no place...and that includes non-religios bigotry as well as religious...you may want to remember that when making sweeping comments about entire groups of people, otherwise you are exactly the same as those you criticise.

In Britain, I agree. But large parts of the rest of the world are still living in much the same way they did 1000 years ago (places like Afghanistan which aren't eve countries tbh) and their culture is completely intertwined with their religion in such a way as to be inseperable.

America is much the same actually, though atheism is gradually catching on.

I think this is the full version. It was in the related videos.

In the end she concludes that there are extremists in Luton, but they are a tiny minority.

I would hazard a guess he was meaning "organised religion". In my opinion, organised religion is a relic and people today should be educated enough to see it as such. I'm not against spirituality, or a belief in God, but a belief in "the God of the bible" or ANY specific God just seems ridiculous. Literal interpretation of any holy book falls under the same category ("nutcase" category) IMO.

Post and run threads are not allowed.

OP, your thread and it's silly caps lock title have done nothing to contribute to or provoke a discussion.

You also have no follow up posts either.

I am closing the thread for this reason.

So anyone who disagrees with you that organised religion still has a role to play in society is stupid?

Is that what you mean.

You do realise that very few Christian Denominations follow Biblical Inherrency...I often find that those that oppose organised religion so vehemently and accuse others of not being educated enough are in fact the very ones that lack the education and knowledge of what the specific organised religions actually believe and the role they play in wider society.
