Wargame: European Escalation - Cold War RTS

I just bought it on the steam weekend. I like C&C style games.

Deffo looking forward to X-com by Fraxis :) I so hope its multi-player. I'd love to play my g/f :)

I bough RUSE the other day (£1.70 - a steal!) which I've been playing through and have really enjoyed so far. I've heard a lot of good things about this next instalment from Eugen Systems, think I may wait for the price to drop a lil bit more though, even though it probably is well worth the money atm.

Absolutely loving this game. The persistant units, the replayability for extra stars, the amount of action, the punishment of mistakes by the AI. Sheer brilliance, and I am only on level 4 (ignore my ingame time, i often play for 15mins and get called away for hours).

RUSE £2 ? where?

Picked this up in the steam sale, done the first sp mission some ai skirmishes and a few mp matches. Anyone got any tips for the mp side of things? And more specifically what units i should be unlocking ./ upgrading etc

Well I would stick with one side or the other for the time being. I prefer Pact. You will need some units in the single player and gain unlocks in the single player. So maybe do that first. I kind of did MP to death in the beta so haven't touched it so much since release but if it were unlocking everything again then I would be looking at infantry for Pact then the lower end tanks to use "tanks" then high end tanks to use behind them as "DPS" to do the actual killing. Look at VDV and Spetsnaz also as they give you the power to hold the middle ground quickly and for example on Hell's Highway can take the buildings at the entry point on the left side of the map and really throw your opponent off and do some significant damage. I love the range of the Havok also. So find what suits you play style. I tend to capture ground with teams of infantry Moto + Fagot + Streka support with some T-55 infront to take the initial damage then have some T-80 behind with Havoks to do the killing. Another good unlock straight away is your eyes so - Mi-9 or the Gazelle - these can be bog standard ones as you want them behind the front lines spotting for you not in engagement with anything. You'll find though this a very much a PACT tactic though - stationary and moving in blocks. Nato units are better stabilised and therefore have better mobility - they don't have the range though of PACT units.

So this is getting good feedback and on sale on Steam here in the US. Anyone has any experience on how this runs on low end systems (I have a laptop) as I can't seem to find any youtube footage?

I run it on my laptop, Core i5 M 430, 4GB RAM, HD 5470 with little issue -- though I run it with the video chip overclocked to 850/1025.

I'm sure it's not as smooth as any PC purist would demand, but it doesn't affect the experience to me.
