Legend of Grimrock - Dungeon Master Fan's !

At the end of level six, if you have a gold key, you can pick one of three rewards.

Was going for the book to boost mage, but decided to check web and read you can save key for a later level with same style multiple choice. What level is that on? And are the rewards anything special?

Damn, I'm sure I looked for a switch or button in that entire spiral corridor and couldn't spot one, I guess I must have missed it. Is it an actual switch (lever) or a small hidden button? (guessing its a small button cause I wouldn't have missed it otherwise)

EDIT: found it, can't believe I missed it, must have been tired after playing for too long :P

Does that work for all gold keys? I found one on level three but used it just before going down to level 4.

I'm enjoying this so far, the only thing I'd complain about is the number of freakin' spiders!

Not sure if it's even true, so came here to check.

As for earlier level keys I wouldn't like to say. To compared against the one I mean expand spoiler to see key and keyhole match.

I think a gold key is a gold key, same as a bronze key is a bronze key, and so on.

I just ran back to the first room where you can pick a choice for a comparison. It's the same keyhole.

Edit: Derp. Comparing it to the same bloody lock that you put up. :o Spot the idiot. :p

I'm fairly sure they're all the same though.

Yep, I saw a lock just like that at the end of level three. Roundabout where there's a scrawled note from a guy about losing his leather greaves. Can't remember exactly where I got the key though but it was definitely somewhere on that level. I got a good mace out of it for my minataur, he'd been using a really rubbish one up until then. I'd guess there is one gold key on each level with a gold lock.
 
Found 3 pieces of the lurker armour, from googling I think I missed the one on level 1/2 ? I am at the end of level 9 at the moment. Seriously tempted to run back to dungeon 1/2 to find it. Is it possible to get that far back?
 
Just blundered into the Vault. I thought I was so clever spotting the glyph on the wall and then tracing the sound of the wall opening.

A Firey thing and an Ogre are released. That's me dead in a few seconds.

Perhaps now would be a good time to head back to the glowy slime bit.

Yep. :) it doesn't take long as you'll probably have opened a load of shortcuts.

You'll get an achievement for your trouble as well as the best light armour in the game.

I just killed the spiders, then the Ogre was a piece of piddle. Just run circles round him.

The rooms massive so you can keep backing off and circling to get clear if you're being swamped a bit.

You only need 4 square to kill anything really.

I am down to level 9 -really enjoying this.
 
I'm tempted to do another run through this game, done default party...next all rogues ;) or something interesting.

How are people coping with the endless respawns on level9?? Really struggling to get through without just running for it, and then I tend to get trapped in a corridor/corner :(
