Few RAM questions

Hi Guys,

I am upgrading my system when IB is released.

I game and use a few programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator would I benefit from 16gb? or would 8GB suffice?

8GB would suffice easily.

8GB is plenty for a mainly gaming machine

If it fits in your budget without making anything else worse though, 16GB is not that expensive

16gb wouldnt be a problem money wise but I dont want to waste it if its never going to be used by the system.

If I was going for just 8GB would I notice a huge difference between

Im not sure what the z77s are capable of RAM frequency wise but 266mhz isn't that big a difference anyway.

As you don't seem fussed about the looks:

Usually runs 1600MHz at around 1.55V give or take.

I purposely chose the white over the other colours because I am going for a red/white/black colour scheme to match the ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 MB i am getting. But thanks for the suggestion.

Fair enough, that Corsair Vengeance Arctic White is good stuff and low profile so won't get in the way of air coolers.
