**NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 680 4GB ARRIVING NEXT WEEK - PRE-ORDER NOW!!**

I'm not getting a 690, 685 probably.

2gb VRAM IS enough for 1080 p. future proof wise, you'll run out of GPU power long before VRAM issues force an upgrade.

I'll agree with that :) Anything higher tho might require more VRAM to stay futureproof, if there is such a thing..

yea ok, the 685 is deffo worth waiting for.... just out of pure curiousity.

the dark horse might be a couple of cheap 7970s .... or even a couple of 7950s, but this all depends on these two Nvidia cards though.... their prices that is...

it's all very interesting, things are starting to heat up around here and i knew it would too, simply put; we have far too many top end cards to choose from, something has to give soon, you can sense it cant you.

after all, we have to add to this lot; which will confuse us even more, the 7990, 685, 690, because i dont know about you, but i'm definitely confused right now, i dont know what the hell to think

I just tend to ignore the dual GPU cards as like you say, they can confuse things but I think that two separate cards are better than a single dual based GPU card :)

finally, i know what i'm like.... i'll probably want to upgrade next year anyway, especially if i'm still posting in here, i'm bound to, i'll get jealous and feel left out........... does this make sense guys, HELL YES OF COURSE IT DOES :D

i'm already thinking of upgrading my new rig  i'm after the Phanteks, you stupid bloody fool, yea' i cant help it

the problem is: being on this forum, it makes you want to BUY BUY BUY, because i wasn't like this last year!

this website/ forum is very clever indeed, it's great for business, i mentioned this to the other artists yesterday, because the key is to make people want something that they dont really need and you do so without realising !!!

I think the forum can make you want to upgrade even when you don't need to but I guess that could be the reason to be here, everyone would like to out do someone :)
I look forward to upgrading but other things have taken prority and sadly those things will come first for me for a long time now and whilst that's no bad thing, I have to make sure I buy the right things :)

Would anyone go SLI here for a 1660p screen ? I see some games struggle to hit 60FPS but most games are over that line at Ultra.

I could spend the extra on SLI or save it for a future upgrade at some point later in the year ?

I'm trying to convince myself it's worth it but is it really.

Ok, all this mentioning of art is putting me to sleep. Stating a fact, the Palit Jetstream 4GB is now showing as in stock on the website for anybody interested.

Yes I would. Whats the point in having a massive res on a screen and not use it? I would always try to run a game with max settings rather than the highest res to start with but if the res made that much of an issue, buy another card to make two :D

If you got that sort of res, whats the point in worrying about how much a GPU costs??

No-one really considers dual GPU cards though. It's a very small amount of poeple that it makes sense for when you consider the downclocking, heat and price downsides.

No-one asked you to read it :p

If I had 10% voucher today I would buy Palit Jetstream 2GB, but I didn't so it is a shame as these cards will be on stock on 27th - if so of course. So it is possible that I wont use my voucher any way.

I personally would save it for the next upgrade (i'm presuming you're on a 680?) in which case you have enough GPU power to stave of the upgrade itch

680 or 7970 or....

I nay do that, I haven't bought a 680 yet which is why I was curious, I've only seen benchmarks via tomshardware etc which show most games run fine bar something like Crysis 2 which struggles @DX11 which is what got me thinking I need SLI if I want to blitz every game out there for the time being. Having said that getting one now and then selling/upgrading when something better comes out seems the smarter bet as I cut my losses.

Most games are fine without the SLI setup involved it's just the odd title (Crysis 2) that struggles and those benchmarks are with a 2GB 680 I don't know if a 4GB improves things or not.
