Shocking isnt it? Just charged up the proper camera, retook it and its even worse. I literally fail.

Try shielding the phone camera lens from the sun and focussing somewhere in the interior (i.e. not the paint); it looks like glare from e.g. the sun is causing problems. Trouble is, it might be reflecting off the paintwork too..

That's looks like a nice car you have there Pepsilol, I love the E39, always have done. I am finding myself wanting another one, now I've had time to get over the 540i I had. I'm not going to, as that would be stupid, but I have seen an unusually large number of E39 Sports around of late and every one of them made me want one again.

Besides I've decided ...again (apparently I needed to remind myself of this as it had been a good while), that I really don't like diesels, especially 4 cylinder ones.

That's lovely pepsilol. You guys just can't understand how much I'm salivating over this one right now...

It's so great I don't mind it's not a V8. 1 owner, 54,000 miles - could even put warranty on it! Leccy comforts, blinds and DOUBLE FREAKIN GLAZING! Soooo much want. It's not quite your interior, pepsilol, but crucially the top of the doors and dash, which are a horrible brown in every other car I've seen with that interior, are black! It's pretty much black carpets and some style 37s away from perfection. If I was in the UK I'd buy it tomorrow. Gaaaah :(

That is a good specification, I have NEVER seen double glazing on a 6 before. Properly rare. Electric steering column too!

Style 37's are the easiest retrofit ever :p

The black dash top is exceptionally rare. The standard colour specification for that interior was brown dash top. It looked bizarre and I've no idea why they did it. I think you could only get the black dash top with the Individual program.

Oh I didn't bother to read the description, just glanced at the picture, but double glazing ...indeed, very rare. I don't recall ever seeing an E39 that actually had it fitted, I just heard 'myths' about them.

Liampope, go and buy that car, before I do.

Yeah total om nom. Actually Moeks you should buy it, cos that will stop me thinking about it :). I'm actually considering a trip back to UK to look at it or even, just a little bit, a totally insane and wreckless deposit down without looking at it and a ferry back to get it. I must be stopped.

I've only seen a couple for sale in the months I've been checking them out with double glazing. One, bizarrely, an old 523! That also had leccy comforts. I've seen pictures of the double glazing glass on the bmw5.co.uk forums - a great forum for getting real hands on with the tinkering and retrofitting actually - check it out. I've also seen pics of the mental 'Protection' option - the bulletproof glass armoured version with inch+ thick windows. That's an option I can live without though.

I asked the seller - this one doesn't have a sunroof, heated seats or split fold rear seats, which is a shame, but I still want it. :(

Sunroof and Split folding seats are two more particularly rare options.

Hmmm I see plenty of sunroofs, but I've been looking mainly at V8s - maybe they're more common on those? Split folding seats - yeah, rocking horse poo. It's a shame as those are two features I actually really appreciate on the trusty Vauxhall barge.

Sunroofs are apparently pretty unreliable. Poor motors and plastic rails.

Ah ok - don't want one then. Sunroofs suck anyway. One less imperfection in this one, then - siiiiigh.

Sorry to jump in, but im trying myself to find a 530 auto. Due to a disability I am having huge trouble with my current clio 172. I miss my e36 too so i think a e39 is the key.

The problem im having is finding one at a dealer, within a reasonable distance.

Ill keep looking :D
