Legend of Grimrock - Dungeon Master Fan's !

No as I don't like the puzzles, EOB or LOL didn't have such fustrating ones on nearly every level

Near the end now and I don't know if I will replay again, in the near future anyway. The secret replay option might be appealing if the limited amount of skill points don't hinder character.

I completed the time sensitive secret and puzzle but I'm not sure I agree with them in an RPG as ability should be based on the characters instead of the player reaction time, that was to the second.

Don't think its weapon specific, just gives you +3 attack power for each one.

In terms of puzzles I think they did very well in the main. Only puzzle I didn't really like was the vague riddle room on level 9.

Hard mode as been a breeze so far, kinda dissapointing. Only hiccup was the fighters challenge which was real nasty. Using unarmed + sword + bow + xbow.

Which puzzle was this?

Iron Door on level 7 or the switches on multiple columns on level 6/7?

There were a few of those - dashing over pits to press buttons before they reopened and that reaction based block-the-plasma-ball one down on L10 (I think - might go back to that with a speed hack :D)

Still love it, though. The modding forum is open on their site and the game has already been pulled to pieces before the editor has even been released. First mod is likely to be a spider remover for the surprising amount of arachnophobia out there.

There are 13 levels, arc@ss.

Is a Mace necessary for the Skull bonus?

No, I just wanted Mace rather than having another sword specialist. You need to select the "head hunter" trait after selecting Minotaur.

I played 3 levels before I knew this and had to start again :o

Yeah that's what I thought. I tried Mace with my first party, I've been putting all my points into Armour this time and I'm finding I do more damage using daggers untrained vs using a Mace with training.

I do feel they need to make some more interesting weapons for the warrior class. Really no point going anything other than Sword at the moment.

Maces seemed fine on my run through, currently doing unarmed which is working out well :) tbh any weapon is viable which is good imo.
