I just got back from there. The flights are expensive and the exchange rate is way out of our favour, so £300 isn't far off.

When you get the RENFRE train into town from the airport, you can buy a carnet ticket of 10 metro/tram/RENFRE/bus journeys for €9.25 which works out a LOT cheaper than the €4.30 single journey fair that RENFRE try and charge you at the machine.

i stayed over in feb for the Valencia CF vs Stoke city game,

Was cheaper to fly and stay in barca for a few nights than stay in Valencia

Flights were £35 and it was MUCH cheaper to rent an apartment, much more social we went ina group of 5 so it was great to have our own building to mess up and destroy :D

i used this website and stayed on the las ramblas http://www.feelbarcelona.com/en/

I wouldn't stay there again though, Its VERY VERY seedy at night lots of crime and prostitutes. Had an amazing time even though we lost. Hope you enjoy it

i used this site for apartments, If your in a group i cant reccomend enough how much better renting an apartment is )and its cheaper)

For night life we quite enjoyed a nightclub called razzamataz, Amazing women in there but the locals didnt take to kind to English people being there. Taxis are cheap in barca , Get your selft a T10 metro ticket and use the metro very straight forward

Not sure if they fly from London, but both times I've been to Barcelona, the flights have been less than £150 for two peole, including baggage and other Ryanair fees.

Not sure I agree with the pp about it being seedy at night... I've always found it pleasant and felt more comfortable walking around at night than I do in Manchester!

I stayed at the W which was lovely, and only a short taxi trip to the football.

You haven't walked up la rambler late at night/early in morning.

With the ugly stereotypical black moma whores/pick pockets. Throughly ****** me off.
Probably not so bad if your not a bunch of guys.

Hands need to be firmly in pockets and elbows at the ready to slam some faces in.

Agreed 100%. I went there twice with work a few years ago. I really didn't like the place. The atmosphere at night is not at all pleasant.

I have, and I'd rather that than walk through Manchester Piccadilly gardens!!

Funny that you should say that as my brother's friend got mugged by black prostitutes when we were there. As much as any major city, you need to make sure that you keep your wits about you.

It's not like other cities there's hundreds of them all trying to fill you up. Never seen anything like it in London, far far worse.

Do not get this seat in the Nou Camp -

Hahahaha dimple, i was there last month and remember seeing this seat during our tour. I remember joking with my mates saying imagine if you had to sit here to watch the match. Ended up going there the day after to watch BArcelona beat Granada 5-3 :)

I love barcelona but you definitely need to keep your wits about you as there's pickpockets, muggers and prostitutes waiting to prey on you if you're alone and drunk.

I'd definitely recommend a central hostel/hotel as barcelona is big and taxis are not reliable/reputable.

As you know it is right under where the Press sit but what I didn't capture was that if you wanted to see the right goal you have to lean over 2 seats forward.
