Nottingham

My mates stay in the ibis as it's normally quite cheap and in the centre of town. Most chains have a hotel somewhere fairly central in Nottingham.

They really do.;)

:D You sounds like the rest of the oldies that live in Woodthorpe! I dunno, decentish pubs on mapp top these days ;)

lol yeah its one of those "once in, never out" places tbh. The Bread and Bitter is an excellent pub on Mapp top like you say but it involves the terror mountain climb that is Breck Hill :P

Or you could stop over the road from the park. The britania's allright, iv'e had a reduced rate room there before for 50 quid. We stop there when we all return back to town for a night out, they've got a big open lounge, we've never had a problem sitting around till the breaking dawn getting trollied.

But hey, claim to fame with the park over the road.... i painted the sign above the door, hows about:)

i'd be wary of traveling outside of the city centre for a cheap deal as its pretty much surounded by rough areas and not a good place to be at night.

might be worth checking out the castle , the caves under the city and woolaton hall if your into that kind of thing.

its been about 10 years since i was last in nottingham so im not sure what "cool" stuff is there anymore

Drinking: I always liked the Pit & Pendulum for downstairs in the dungeon, although it's pretty old and beaten up now. Social bar and Tantra are nearby too, Tantra for the novelty of laying on beds in a bar listening to a Jazz band :)
