best ssd under £100.

so im half way through splitting my current pc into a gaming pc and a storage/streaming/general use pc.

heres the storage side that will be streaming to xbox 360s.

with the hdds from my current pc.

i now need a ssd to go with my current pc to become a gaming pc.

my goal is to play diablo 3(i play all my games on 360 but diablo is my favorite game series so im not missing it.)

my current spec will be:

q9400
4gb ram
i think a 5850
corsair 600w psu.

i think the cpu is with the standard cooler so would it be worth upgrading that and getting a small overclock to play diablo 3?

so i need a ssd to have windows 7 and diablo 3 on it and for under £100 and if its worth it a cpu cooler.

Though I'd shell out a bit more for the Crucial M4 128GB one, which I did back in December, very quick, 2 firmware updates since then & no problems with it so far.

90GB OCZ Agility 3 can be had for under £100 got a 60GB as OS and still have 23GB free fast as hell too!

Just seen Grimleys post, agree this would also be a top buy , uses the same controller as the Agility 3 wow 120GB for less than a oner .

The Crucial M4 is always recommended as its fast and reliable

If it needs to be under £100, then I'd get a Corsair Force 3

If you want a new cooler this Gelid gets good reviews and is on offer

the corsair looks good, is there any setup to do or is it just plug and play?

from the reviews its shipped with the latest firmware.

i will be limited to sata2 on my old mobo though.

SATAII is no problem it'll be very fast, you wont get the max speeds but you'll still get the fast boot/loading times which is what is actually noticeable.

Just install windows without any HDDs installed, and run WEI to make sure Windows picks up all the settings for the SSD and you're good to go

Spot on. I've got both a Corsair Force 3 and Crucial M4, both are great drives tbh though.

Nah, they're the same cable anyway really. Just been tested at SATAIII speeds

ordered, went with a sata 3 cable as it turned out cheaper than the sata 2 i picked

and if i get a new mobo in the future one less thing to buy.

shall order my pc bits when i get paid next week, plenty time until diablo 3 comes out anyway
