I'm off to Abbey Wood (AW) on Monday for an interview (promotion). Last time I went I parked in the B&Q car park but that has been stopped now. Does anyone know where else I can park close to AW without risking a ticket? I was going to park in Sainsbury's cos I have some shopping to do so I'll have a receipt but not sure if that's too dodgy. I'll probably only be about an hour ish.

Last time I was there, parking in B&Q was fine.

Just go into the store, tell them at the customer service desk what you're doing and they'll charge you a couple of quid for the day to park.

Already looked on the maps to see what's around there. I can see loads of car parks but will google maps will tell me it's ok to park there?

Have you tried street view?

If you are really stuck probably best to do the shopping first at sainsburys and then ask while you're there is there's anywhere to park.

OR

Do half the shopping, go to the meeting, then finish off with the frozen food.

It's all changed. Some people were parking there all day and taking the mick so they've withdrawn it. We got a circular at work about it a couple of weeks ago.

possibly up by filton avenue? haven't worked over in bristol for a few months now so can't really remember how easy it'll be to park there, or if it's free...

I also got a company-wide email about it. Apparently, this is what passes for Big News in the Filton area. :p

Park in sainsburys or the rubbish shopping area next to AW. Both are "2 hour" parking only but generally very quiet.

Filton Abbey Wood railway station has free parking.

Thanks, I'll try there. I would go on the train but it's about an hour from Chippenham (with waiting etc), it's only a 30 min drive down the M4. It also costs about £9 to park at Chippenham train station.

Wouldn't have thought you'd have a problem in the Sainsburys. Always spaces, even around lunchtime and if you are going to be doing some shopping anyway I can't see the issue.
