Hi guys, i want to change my current motherboard mainly due to colour clash with the rest of my PC :o and i'm torn between these two bards:

ASRock
Z77%20Extreme6(m).jpg

and
ASUS

I intend to run a max of 2 GPU's on it with descent overclock to the CPU and eventually GPUs.

If you had to choose which one would you go for and why?

Also, do you thin i'll experience any performance differences between either of those and my current Z68 ASRock Fatal1ty Gen3 board?

Thanks for your views/suggestions.

You won't actually get any performance increase over your current z68 board with either of those boards. And those are two of my favourite looking z77s... so hard choice really.. they should both overclock really well. I decided to go with the extreme6... because well I like the gold parts on it etc which should break up the colour scheme of my rig that Im going for :p

i have the ASRock extreme 6, its a nice board and has a lot of features.
although i do like the asus with its covers, it does look nice. but i cant see any PCI slots (i dont think) which would annoy me as i may need one one day.

Ollie,
when you say i won't see any increase in performance do you mean that my current board actually overclock and perform better then either one of the new ones?

going from a Z68-Z77 wont give you much more chance of a higher OC as its more down to the chip that the motherboard.

but..........you now have a better version of lucid, which i found gave a nice FPS increase and high FPS whilst keeping vsync via some pixy magic or something more technical. i did get a slightly better OC (i could lower my vcore a little bit) but not sure if that was down to the motherboard or i just changed some other settings.

as he said^ the z77 motherboards for SB processors overclock pretty much identically to the Z68s so you won't really be gaining very much.
