So I filled all my memory slots with corsair 4GB DDR3 1333MHz to 32GB. The weird thing is I should have a total of 32GB... On Dxdiag I have the 32GB, on CPU-Z i have 23GB??? Also if i check on Crucial it reads all 32GB. Anyone had the problem before?

Are you using the latest version of CPU-Z?

If you start the Task Manager, and click on the Performance tab, what does it say for Total Physical Memory?

Different versions of Windows can access different anounts of RAM. 23GB is an odd number which doesn't fit with any of them but just to rule it out what version of Windows are you using?

Post a screenshot of the Memory tab from CPU-Z if you still have issues.

Task Manager is showing 23,785MB (23.23GB) installed the same as CPU-Z.

That obviously doesn't even divide equally to the 4GB sticks you're using.

Do you have the latest BIOS?

Have you made sure all the RAM is seated properly?

Look at the SPD tab in CPU-Z and there's a drop down box in the top left corner for each stick of RAM. Can you select all 8?

Do you have a Corsair H80? You could try very slightly loosening the 4 screws securing the pump/cooling block to the motherboard.

You could also check that you don't have any damaged pins in the CPU socket.

Got the latest Bois, and yes have an H80. Will try and loosen it to see what happens... In CPU-Z I cant select 8,7,6 will open my chase and see if I can fix it... Thanks of the comments

if the pins is Damaged on the CPU socket, the the cpu wont work right?

Different pins obviously have different functions.

Certain pins will connect the memory controller on the processor to the RAM.

It's possible that if these are damaged the processor would function but you'd have problems with the RAM.

The weird thing is that the Bios is showing 32GB and all slots are showing the memory... CPU-Z just doesnt Windows is saying 32GB installed only 23.2GB usable...

All sorted... was the frequency the new 2x4GB was at for some reason Asus Auto Over-clocking Fixed it :)

Off topic - I would lower the page file usage if I were you. You should even consider disabling it since you have 32GB of ram. You will NEVER need to use it. I have 24GB of ram and I have set it to 2GB which is more than enough IMO.

You are 100% wrong.

Leave it as system managed regardless of your physical RAM (points to signature).

If you use a mechanical hard drive with that much ram you should definitely reduce the page file size. Or at least move it to a non system disk.

It will increase the loading time of windows and paging that much data will make even the fastest system crawl.

This is from experience at work our artists using 3dsMax and Maya have 24gb ram and i have had to decrease the page files to 1gb and move it to a non system disk. SSD's make a difference but there to expensive for workstations at work.

Nope.

Microsoft

"The more RAM that you have available or is added to a computer, it generally tends to decrease the size of the page file needed. If you have enough RAM installed in your computer, you may not require a page file at all, unless one is required by a specific application. This all depends on how much virtual memory is used by your system and/or applications installed."

As it states, you don't need one if you have a high amount of ram (probably 16GB or over). Maybe if you use those resource demanding programs from Adobe.
