Thinking of investing in the Zalman RESERATOR1 V2 Fanless Water Cooling System, just to keep temps down as well as noise and a possible overclock to around 3.2 maybe a little higher though thats not as important I really want to get rid of my fans to stop the inside of my case from getting dusty. Hhas anyone else gone for this? If so how are you finding it? What overclocks have you been able to achieve if any? Also is there any other options out there for a silent water loop which will allow me to overclock a little higher for the same price point?

Check my build logs of how I use my reserator.

For the best performance you want an external pump and better cpu block.

I can run my system fully passive too.

I will have to wait till I can afford to get an external pump then, but for a first into water cooling would you say the Reserator is a good choice for the price and ease of use?

Op the reserator was on my list a few weeks back and I ruled it out as for the price you can get yourself much better kits for the money. If you need an external solution then yes it might be for you but its 4 year old technology and there are Air coolers that can out perform it. It all comes down to what you want.

My advice read up on reviews and look for builds etc, as if you underspec your WC you'll spend just as much again putting it right. Been there and done it.

True on its own without mods its not great, I picked my unit up 2nd hand for £30, I wouldn't pay the current new prices of ~£145 for one that's for sure.

second hand as pgi947 said (with a very low restriction block)
And that old tech neaded to deal with HT prescott cpu's!
the current duel / quads are chilly in comparision.

If you want OC's and no fans check out some of my build logs.
As with a large enough case an internal silent loop is possable for little more that a new reserator.

Thanks for everyones advice, I eventually went for EK-KIT H3O - Supreme LT 240 EN which cost me a less then the reserator would have been.

Should be a nice kit that. Let us know how you get on. Could have gone down the phobya external res route but thats also quite pricey and needs a very powerful pump lol.
