1980s / early 90s kids - what computer did you have?

Mavis Beacon! Absolutely stunning typing game :-) It was on the PC for me though, on the school computers, around 1992. I didn't know about PC specs back then, but I'm guessing it was on a 486 of some sort. Mavis is still going btw.

had a C16, a few 286's, Amiga 500, NES etc

Best game I've ever owned was the original Civ on the PC.

My 1st pc was a second hand spectrum +2 it came with a big box full of cassette tapes id say 80+ with the majority being pirated lol or from pc mags.
Then nothing for a few years until I got handed a 333 Celeron on win 3.1 beige box off my mother
then handed a 486 on w95 from my uncle
other hand me downs/upgrades that I cant recall
the 1st pc I brought was a 3.6GHz p4 northwood from the purple shirts
found Overclockers shortly after and have built my own since.

found one of these in a skip

Early 80's Christmas Eve. I was 12,13, 14 or something and i couldn't sleep because i was so excited. I crept downstairs at about 3 in the morning and there it was. A ZX Spectrum 48K. I can't remember how i set it up or connected it to the TV but I'll always remember the 1st game I played. It was Beach Head by US Gold. I had an arcade machine in my front room. The 2nd game i played was Daley Thompson's Decathlon. I can still remember the music now.

The game that really blew me away was a Robin Of Sherwood a year or so later. The intro had the 1st speech I'd heard in a computer game and the music was in 3 channel sound. Happy days.

I had a spectrum +2. loved it. However, I still feel nauseous just thinking about the godawful noise when loading up games. Only for it to crash.

I use to love a game called cliffhanger. used to think it was awesome the way they accurately modelled a wild west setting :D

My first computer was a Commodore Vic 20 with a huge additional 3kB ram cartridge giving a total of 8kB :/ years later i moved up to the Amiga 500.

1st computer in the 80's would have to be the ZX Spectrum 128k + 2 with the built in tape deck :D
I was pretty young at the time and I can't remember a fraction of the games, we used to go down east street market on weekends and there would be a few stalls selling cheap games, so I had tons. But 1 game that has always stuck with me is Turbo Esprit. The amount of freedom you had in that game, a whole map to explore.
It was the Grand Theft Auto of it's time :)

i had a Vic 20 in 1987,the one with the 16k Expansion pack, can clearly remember playing Blitz!! and then Mid Nineties an Amiga 1200 which i had until 1999

Vic20 that i still have.
Atari ST that i still have.
Various PC's
Also have some Amstrad and monitor with a bag full of games that a freind was giving away.

Started off with a Spectrum+. Played it for years until eventually it broke. After that I had an Amiga 500. I remember after a few years spending £56 on a 512k RAM upgrade. I remember wanting an A1200 but then Commodore went bust. My mate introduced me to the PC and I've been using one every since

Started life on a dragon 32 which for some reason was broken so exchanged it for a vic20. From there it was C64, C128, AtariST, Amiga1200 then onto PC's

Vic20
C64
Amiga 1000
Amiga 1200
PC

I remember spending hours/days typing in code from a magazine for a game that in the end didnt work.

And I remember watching The Games Mistress (Jet) giving game hints iirc. Think she was dressed in rubber.
