hospital gave me gastroenteritis

So basically you went in not being able to "keep water down" or what I would call being sick and then you say the hospital gave you gastroenteritis

This will be the downfall in an action you take you already had the first possible signs of gastroenteritis. Even if you got it at hospital its most likely they would say you possibly already had it.

For the sake of a sickness bug that took you out for a bit i wouldn't waste my time if I'm honest. Could understand if you went in with a broken toe got the bug, it caused you hardship while you were off work not being paid for weeks crapping your pants, being sick while not being able to afford the rent and the kids going hungry because daddy couldn't feed them.

lots has been said and on touchpad so its effort =p
Went in for an other issue, came out vomiting and diarrhea. Went back in 4days later with suspected pancreas issues to be told it was gastro instead.
the doctor even said there was quite a few known cases in the hospital. I'm still suffering today but at least able to drink and eat to some degree, and definitely not curled up moaning in pain.

I suppose the risk is high from ambulance to various beds in the hospital. I haven't lost money due to being on jobseekers.

Is that a joke?

I'm not surprised you got conjunctivitis if you has metal stuck in your eye. :p

I wasn't told I'd get it! and I wasn't even aware that it was common with metal in the eye,

Metal out, sore eye.. (due to having metal picked out) then later at home the pain got worse and worse, eye streaming.. eye ache, it was hell for a few days. Had to go back then they said I'd got conjunctivitus!

What happened to common sense?

This is why we are in the state we are in.
In a couple of years time people will buying cutlery and there will be stickers on them saying "DO NOT jab these knives & forks in your eye or into other parts of your body, or anybody elses body" and so on.
People have to be guided through every part of their lives and if something goes wrong it's somebody elses fault.
You ought to see some of the PI Claims I've had on my desk but I can't give any examples just in case but I'll make a couple up :

"My daughter was in the ward visiting her Father and she kept reaching up to get the water jug on the side cabinet but I could only stop her so many times.
I thought a staff member would see her doing this and come and remove the jug but they didn't.
After a while she actually grabbed it and it fell down onto her shoulder and caused a lot of bruising"

"I was working in the toilets in the ****** department and me and my mate decided to do some chin ups on the toilet frame but it gave way and I badly bruised my knees and had to have time off work"

Honestly, I've had claims similar to these.

Firstly, are you seriously saying that one of the doctors actually told you that "it was most likely something we gave you"....

And secondly- hospitals are full of sick people. Sick people are sick because of bugs. You were in a hospital with other sick people and may have caught something. What kind of negligence are you looking for, that they have sick people in the hospital...?

we need to get rid of the sick people! or anyone that may get sick!
