6970 dual monitors.

Good evening What would I need to do to use 2 monitors (1 1920x1080p primary, one 1680x1050 secondary) with my 6970? A dual link dvi cable? both monitors only have DVI ports.

Depends what outputs your 6970 has on the back, which will leave you with either 2xDVI cables if it's a stock one:

Or 1 DVI cable and a HDMI to DVI cable.

Connect up both your monitors to the card using DVI, then download either UltraMon or preferably DisplayFusion and you are all set. The software will allow you to set up everything the way you want, within reason, including the use of monitors of differing resolution. A 30day trial of DF is great to see how it works.

You dont really need any 3rd party software, windows does it just fine.
