I've recently got an iphone and am looking at insurance policies just in case! Has anyone else taken out phone insurance that could give me some feedback/recommendations? Thanks.

I would reccomend Protect My Bubble, it's only £6 a month and they cover loads of stuff!

I've heard lots of bad things about them and would suggest you give them a miss and try some alternatives (possibly your bank?).

I have no first hand experience, just gone by what has been said on the internet (yes it's cheap, but it goes down hill as soon as you try to make a claim)

I went with CUSC, seemed decent for the price and seen a few recommendations for them.

Many people rely on their home insurance but personally I wouldn't want to have to claim on that for a relatively low-value item and risk pushing my premiums up next time round. YMMV but personally I think of home insurance as there for large claims should something really bad happen (touch wood!), not for odd items like a lost or broken phone.

JSInsurance are £6.99 a month and were perfect when I dropped my Milestone last year. They tried to repair it by bringing parts over from the US meaning I was without it for about 3 weeks before they sent me a replacement. With a more common phone I have no doubt they'd be quicker. They have my Blackberry insured as well now.

Thanks for the tips guys. I was looking at Protect your bubble the other day online and they have a lot of good reviews, but none of them reviewers had actually had to make a claim. How you can review an insurance company from just going online and filling in some boxes is baffling.

Endsleigh offer insurance for iPads and iPhones for £5 a month. Covers accidental loss which most plans don't. Excess is 10% of whatever you claim.

A mate of mine used Protect my bubble and had not received a replacement or a repaired phone from them in nearly two months. I don't know all the details but he did say to me he would never use them again, he even went to the trouble of writing on there facebook wall to complain, low and behold it was sorted within the week. Make of it what you will but just my two pennies ;)
