What are nice temps for cpu/gpu at idle?

Just make sure your rad is nice and clean, keep that front fan on! and change your TIM, then report back with good temps, you have a very good cooler:D

hopefully the PK-1 paste, aquaero heatsink and a few other bits and pieces should arrive tomorrow. so after they get installed i should be able to post amazing temps ha.

what case do u have Wazz? and does ur 920 take air from inside or outside of the case?

Case is a corsair 650D, the 920 is pulling air out of the case, i also have sort of custom intake set up, original 200mm fan and two 120 vipers mounted inside the case, one pulling cool air directly from outside the case from a converted drive bay and the other mounted behind the 200mm fan if you get what i mean. Also have two 140mm vipers as exhaust but i only run these at 640 rpm. Heres a pic

As long as your not going over 70C at 100% load for a good few hours, i shouldnt worry

but at idle 50C is worrying, even 40C

id be expecting around 30-35 idle depending on your cooling

i didnt realise u can attach 140mm fans to the 920... cool.

nice airflow set up

i can run prime for 30 mins n get about 65*C max

No mate the 140s are my top fans for exhaust, 120s on the Kuhler, although i think you can fit 140mm fas on with a shroud adapter.

1 hour prime95 max tem 59c @ about 1200 rpm so fairly quiet too

but all depends on ambient temps this was a cool day, sometimes temps will hit mid/late 60s running IBT on a warmer day

durrr, i forgot the 650D can take a few fans lol

my liquid temp when idling (33*C) is higher than yours at full load (32.6*C) ha...

I have high hopes for my new TIM and other cooling things...

What TIM are u using?

just set 920 fans to 1200rpm and case fans to 50% (about 700rpm)... lets see how mine fairs after an hour of large FFT...

Im using Aquasuite to control my cpu fans, not ChillControl, but I have set them manually to 1200rpm (8v) and all 3 case fans to 700rpm (6v).

These will roughly be the temp / fan speed settings that i will use when i set aquasuite to control everything by its self as its still fairly quiet :-) - i will be fine tuning it more once my order from post #14 and the aquaero heatsink arrives.

I read somewhere that the IC Diamond TIM was quite abrasive, so overlooked it...

been running large fft now for 45 mins now and max core temps are 56/60/64/58, gfx cards idling at 43 and 52.

my 2700k idles at ~40c on 1.41v 4.9ghz

That's with h80 on lowest setting with single gt1850.

Not checked gaming temps tbh, could lower temps if I put my other gt1850 back on but it makes a RACKET. Going under water soon anyway.

Sli 580 XE's with afterburner controlling the fans at 30% (lowest speed)

Nice rig, i'm just a poor boy with a single HIS 6950 clocked to 950/1427 idles @ 50c ish:( but running 2x monitors so i guess its to be expected, thinking of upgrading but with all the cooing about what cards best at the moment i can't decide, might xfire the 6950 and wait to see what comes later in the year, be sure to post up some results when you get your new TIM/heatsink etc.
