What is it with SEO providers?

Hey guys,

Are any of you getting an inordinate amount of spam from all these crappy SEO companies recently? What's the deal with that? Are they thinking its easy money or something?

You go to Google to find their website, and it pops up on page 13 or so, that's hardly a very good advertisement for a company trying to sell you SEO, and at a ferocious price at that, is it?

But really, why is there so many people trying to sell it recently, like from say the start of the year?

Surely if you were going to buy SEO off someone, you goto Google, and bash in "SEO", and go with the top result. Clearly they know how to do it right?

Got it in one. My mate(he works in marketing[yes I have told him to kill himself due to this but I digress]) has been doing it for years recently though with all the FB, Tumblr, Twitter nonsense it's become a hell of a lot easier for people to do hence the sudden increase.
