PPI - Success stories?

You will get the entire amount you paid in PPI plus interest at some ridiculously inflated rate.

The loan finished back in 2006, so I have no paperwork, do you know what percentage PPI would have been charged at? Sorry must seem like a silly question, but is it a fixed rate or different for everyone.

I had a black horse loan some time ago, it had PPI that was conditional on obtaining the loan, also when I paid it off early (16 months early) they refused to refund the remaining portion of the PPI which at the time got my goat tbh......I basically paid for 16 month cover when I didn't have loan payments to to cover.

We have all the original paperwork.

The wife is filling out the form on their website now.

I sold a protected loan to someone in 2006. They claimed I had mis-sold it and they were due a £7,600 refund.

They got nothing. :)

How do you/they know if you were miss-sold PPI?

I took my loan out years ago so have no idea.

I'm pretty sure they asked me if I wanted it for cover in case I lost my job, was off long term sick and made redundant, so I took it out for protection but can't remember.

Basically they'll go back and make sure it was done properly, if they can't prove that you get a refund.

It might sound a bit unfair on the banks, but realistically if they'd their act in order it wouldn't be happening.

My parents in law got all there PPI payment back which was about £6000 then there was another payment of about £10,000 and some smaller payments making the total they got back about £19,000. The interest rate for miss sold PPI insure cases is set by the goverment departments I believe and it was 8% for my mother and father in law so I think the bigggest amount of money they got back was interest becuase they paid it over a really long time.

I have applied to have my case looked at with a Halifax loan. They say it can take up to 8 weeks to investigate...for those who have success was there a timeframe or was the 8 weeks pretty standard.

Not really fussed as I will either get it or won't but it makes checking the post more interesting each day :D and will they contact me via mail or telephone\email?

yeah mine was 8 weeks or so :)

How is it possible for people run up such large numbers on something they didnt even need and was an optional choice?

How big was the loan that needed £5300 on PPI? Must have had a big increase on the monthly repayment?

I only paid £700 for the insurance, but including 6+ years interest and some other sum I got £1200 back. I don't think it only depends on the size of the loan, but the loan term and the time since the policy started.

Who are not so????? Not an entirely helpful answer.

Britannia Moorgate took on some of EGGs commitments, but who would you contact to claim against the mis-selling of PPI of a previous EGG loan and/or Credit Card?

Think I paid about 2k or so on the PPI, but had about 5 years of 8% interest, plus a final compensation 8% year

Who did you contact for the egg loan as egg are now defunct?

Egg are still going, but no longer do credit cards and loans

Egg have a specific department for dealing with PPI payments. Don't have details at work, but phone main number and they will put you though
