Not long bought a new iPad and absolutely love it, use it far more than I ever thought I would, it's also the best browsing experience I've ever had.

I also own a Mid 2010 13" MacBook Pro 2.4GHz with 8GB Memory and 256GB SSD. In my opinion it's still a very nice and very capable laptop but since the iPad it's not getting any use.

My head tells me if it's not being used then sell it but my heart says i'll miss it when it's gone!

Anyone here bought an iPad and sold their MacBook only to regret it?

I actually did it the other way around with the first generation iPad and when the MBP got refreshed last year, of course iPad's are a lot more powerful now though.

No way. My wife would kill me if I even thought about replacing her MacBook Pro with an iPad. Mind you I've just upgraded her from a 2007 MacBook to a 15" MacBook Pro and she's loving it.

I love my iPad but would also really like a 13" MacBook Air but with the recent purchase of the MBP for her indoors and a potential upgrade of my iMac to the new IvyBridge one I simply don't have the cash. :(

I like mine too much and use it still daily as it contains my entire iTunes library. Out of all the laptops I've owned, my uMacbook blows them apart so I just could never part with it unless future OS's get too slow on it.

I did, mainly because of lack of use though, iPad is an excellent web browser and that's all I need currently. Next academic year I may consider buying one again if I feel I would benefit from it.

I currently have a Macbook Pro, but I'd like to (in the not too distant future), grab an iPad. And then I'll replace my Macbook Pro with an iMac.

I don't use the Macbook Pro out and about as much as I thought I would, so I'll get an iPad to be able to use "Out and about", and the iMac can be my home computer :)

I did but probably because I replaced it with an iMac as well as an iPad.

I think that's probably the way to go, either run with a laptop or a desktop + iPad.

But all depends on what you use things for, if all you do is browsing etc then an iPad will do that just fine I'd have thought.

Or just be greedy and have a laptop, iPad and an iMac as well. Think that might be my plan once we move house :)

Otherway around here...

Ipad gone, 11" macbook air with i7 and 256GB SSD. All the power I could ever need from a mobile device.

I did. I had an early 2011 MBP i7 8GB RAM. But I also have a Mac Pro with U2711 and U2412M monitors.

The MBP was for uni but as I cycle in I carried it in a hardcase which made it more like carrying a very thick 15" Laptop. After I got the iPad I almost completely stopped using the MBP. As I desktop at home and iPad at uni/leisure.

Although I do plan on picking up an 11" or 13" air when the 2012 models drop.

Just use my iPad for a quick browsing experience or when I can't get near my iMac for the wife hogging it. But for a really great browsing experience and all my productive work then its my iMac. No way would I want to do any serious or even less serious work on an iPad.
