The pricing of kindle ebooks is insane. In some cases they're even more expensive than the actual book. It's utter maddness for a digital copy.
Everyone I meet tells me I should buy a Kindle. Seriously. The binmen. The ticket collector on the train. The dentist. Buy a Kindle. Buy a Kindle. Buy a Kindle.
has anyone brought one for their other half - did they use it?
Brought one where?![]()

One of the best things about Kindle (if you're a very fast reader) is that you can buy a book, read the whole thing, then return it for a refund.
I'm not sure how long you get before the option to refund disappears from the 'Manage my Kindle' part of the account. But I've been able to beat it on 11 out of the last 14 or 15 books I've bought.![]()

Good work. Thanks to you, the terms and conditions will soon be changed so that people who genuinely need a refund get boned.

ebooks also have vat and books don't I believe?
Is this likely to be permanent? As that is quite a turn off, was thinking of getting a kindle or similar when I get home and would mainly get new release books but if they are more expensive than hard copies I'm not too sure.![]()
Interesting. I imagine that'll be an anomaly that becomes increasingly pertinent.
With Amazon selling more ebooks than paperbacks I doubt the government will change that.
