Madeleine McCann's parents

Absolutely, when you've lost a child you should never be allowed to have a life after that.

If they want to live life they should just give up with this **** money wasting campaign as she will never be found and stop being treat like ******* celebrities.

I think that maybe what happened!

I also think they gave her away for money. Possibly they sold her to a family who couldn't concieve but that's only my theory :o

I'm not a parent so I don't know how it would feel to lose a child if that is the case. I think they should just give up the look to be honest and save the taxpayer some money.

Does anyone think that it's all a big fraud. Who in the right mind would leave there daughter or son on there own (young daughter or son) and go for a drink without going back to check.

The children were sleeping in the apartment just 100 yards from where they were having dinner. The timeline for the evening also shows that they checked on them every 30 minutes, so I would suggest checking your facts next time.

The McCanns clearly aren't stupid and presumably the only reason they didn't get a babysitter was because they were nearby and felt safe. I'm sure many parents have done similar, this situation just ended up being the biggest mistake of their lives though.

I think it is guilt. Not because I think they had anything to do with the actual kidnapping, it is because it is their fault they left her alone at home when somebody should have been looking after her. If they had acted like proper parents, none of this would have happened. Sure, they are getting some money from the book, but I think it is just more proof they feel guilty as hell.

+1

I would never dream of leaving my children alone even for 5mins let alone 30mins. They should be ashamed

Personally, I think they killed her - blood in car, leaving her alone while abroad?... reallly?... sounds dodgy as sin to me.

May not have been intentional, but I'd bet good money they did.

As much as part of me has to agree that £2 million of tax payers money spent on this is a waste I can't help but think about what if it was my daughter? I'd be quite happy for the UK government to bankrupt itself in funding a search for my missing child.

Exactly.

Extremely selfish attitude to expect the government and tax payers to foot the bill, however large it may be, to find your child, who you left in your hotel room, with the door unlocked.

Fair enough, I wouldn't leave my child alone in the first place. Regardless of that though, I'd want to try absolutely everything I could to find them, even if it meant copying what the McCanns are doing right now.

It's a horrible situation knowing that thier child is gone and they may never see her again dead or alive. I don't think they are bad parents either, they made a judgement and it back fired on them a lot of parents do that and nothing like this ever happens.

And I think they have done what any loving parent would do and look to every possible avenue to try and get thier child found.

The problem was the media's reaction and over exposure of the story, the parents will obviously try to propagate media coverage as it increases the chances she would be found.

The media progagate it as it gets them more readers/viewers and this generates side stories based on analysis or embelish or over emphasis aspects of the stories in the hopes it will attract more readers/viewers.

But people quickly tire of the same news stories days or weeks later and this generally generates resentment towards the source of the news.

Thats all my opinion of course

Being someone who has regular nosebleeds, I reckon there are traces of my blood all over the country / world - If we're talking half a pint or more then I admit it looks dodgy.

No they are just plain stupid

Easy access to sedatives too. Jus sayin

Yeah

The only other possibility is that they were being watched and someone knew their 'drunk nights' routine and how often the kids were left alone, to know when to go in un-noticed, but if where they were dining out had a direct view on the apt where the kids were, surely one of them would have noticed someone walking out their apt with a child...

Unless everyone was so hammered that night they didn't notice (which makes it even more inexcusable IMO)?

And why didn't any kidnapper take all kids and just one? (if they knew their routine and asset the risk of being caught as low).

Did the McCanns suffer from nose bleeds..?

I guess if it needs spelling out then the point I was making is that a few blobs of blood in a car can hardly be sufficient enough evidence unless it was on a weapon of some kind or happened to be vast quantities of it, because y'know, people / kids bleed - never had a badly grazed knee, cut or nose bleed as a child?

No they are just plain stupid

Their careers and levels of education would suggest otherwise.

Like I said before, no doubt thousands of other parents worldwide have done something similar in the past and thought nothing of it.

Regardless of the mistake they made, it's still a missing/kidnapped British Citizen. How is it any different from an adult being kidnapped or going missing abroad? The victim and their family would still expect the government to do as much as possible to help them.
